Bridget didn’t mince words as she explained her predicament. “My passport is blocked. I’m stuck in Turkey. If I enter Kenya, I will be arrested,” she declared. Despite being able to travel to places like Dubai, Achieng said her focus is on resolving her legal issues, reuniting with her son, and moving to what she calls a "better country."

Human Trafficking Allegations: The Shadow That Won’t Fade

At the heart of her troubles are allegations of human trafficking. Bridget has been accused of luring Kenyan women to the Middle East with promises of lucrative jobs, only for them to end up victims of sex trafficking. Achieng vehemently denies the claims, insisting the matter is still being handled in court.

Bridget’s legal woes aren’t the only controversy tarnishing her name. Back in 2018, she locked horns with the BBC over a documentary that portrayed her as a prostitute. Although the network later issued an apology, the damage was done.

In the documentary, Achieng admitted to having engaged in prostitution during a financially desperate time. “I was naive and desperate for money. I had to do what I could to get back on my feet,” she said, adding, “It’s not something any woman should be proud of.”

Achieng candidly confessed to being drawn into the trade by the allure of quick money. “Some guy offers you $10,000 just to go and see him. $10,000! Some people have never even seen that kind of money in their lives,” she said. “You look pretty, get the cash, get on a plane, and do what you have to do.”
