"Age-Gap Love Won't Last," Muthoni Claims

When a 35-year-old woman reached out to Muthoni for advice about dating a 24-year-old man, the relationship guru didn’t hold back. In her characteristic blunt style, Muthoni outlined three solid reasons why the relationship was doomed from the start.

"Getting older is more than just a number," Muthoni declared, adding that being with a much younger man forces the older woman to take on a more dominant role—one that might leave her feeling more like a mom than a partner. According to Muthoni, "You end up planning everything, offering advice, and even taking control. It’s like you’re raising him."

But that wasn’t the end of it! Muthoni warned that dating a younger guy could spark maternal instincts, causing the older woman to start "mothering" her boyfriend rather than building a romantic partnership. Ouch! She also stressed that if the woman is looking for a serious, long-term relationship, a 24-year-old guy isn’t mature enough for that level of commitment.

As expected, Muthoni’s advice didn’t sit well with everyone. Some applauded her candid approach, agreeing that age-gap relationships often face tough challenges. Others, however, came to the defense of the 24-year-old man, arguing that age is just a number, and what truly matters is maturity.
