Akothee Breaks Her Silence on Nelly Oaks: "I'm Not the Problem Here!

Kenyan music sensation and entrepreneurial powerhouse Esther Akoth, aka Akothee, has never been one to shy away from speaking her mind. And this time, she’s setting the record straight on her rocky, on-again-off-again relationship with her longtime partner and manager, Nelly Oaks.

In a surprising Instagram post, the mother of five claimed she’s never been the cause of their breakups. “No woman will leave a good relationship. I see many people think I’m the one who picks him up and then drops him, but let me start the year with the truth,” Akothee wrote. She went on to reveal that it’s Nelly who has ignited every fight and initiated every breakup in their nearly ten-year love story.

The Blame Game: Who’s Really at Fault?

Akothee’s post didn't stop there. "As a woman, when I reach my limit, I choose to walk away and live my life because I have a life within the life we have together," she shared. Despite their splits, Akothee hinted at the undeniable bond that keeps pulling them back together: "The challenge is the strong bond between us."

And in true Akothee fashion, she detailed her own breakup ritual: blocking and deleting Nelly’s contact information. Yet, somehow, fate seems to keep pulling them back together. "Don't get it twisted: I am a faithful, genuine, and loving partner," she asserted.

A One-Man Woman in a Tumultuous Relationship

To dispel any doubts about her commitment, the 43-year-old artist added, "I am a woman who dates one man at a time." Akothee emphasized that, despite the turbulence, she’s always given her full loyalty to Nelly – never juggling multiple relationships or betraying his trust.

Their romance has been an intense rollercoaster, with Akothee even pursuing marriage with another man during one of their many splits last year. Despite this, she and Nelly found their way back to each other, resuming their unpredictable love story.
